The Celoflex™ 95 protectant is a 2-component, chemically cured polyurethane coating that offers excellent resistance to erosion, impact and abrasion. It is formulated to be flexible and durable, making it ideal for use on leading edges of wings, stabilizers, radomes and other areas of an aircraft that are exposed to high-speed airflow and rain. When applied as directed, the coating delivers reliable protection for sensitive areas, guarding against common types of environmental damage without weighing down the aircraft.
This coating is also resistant to other fluids besides rain, including jet fuel, hydraulic fluid and most lubricating oils. Use PPG® 5478/2909 Celoflex™ Erosion-Resistant Base in a wide range of aviation applications with outstanding results. It can be applied over epoxy primer or directly onto clean, dry and abraded aluminum.
PPG® PRC-DeSoto® Celoflex™ 95 Erosion Resistant Polyurethane Coating comes in a light gray color and has a semi-gloss finish, so it adds to the aesthetic appeal of the aircraft while adding a layer of protection. It has a practical coverage rate of approximately 800 square feet per gallon at 1 mil dry film thickness.
This product is available in different sizes including quart kits and gallon kits. The kit includes both the base component and the curing solution. The two components need to be mixed together before application.
