The sealant has a vibrant red color for visibility and is slightly elastic to ensure a strong bond in the face of vibrational forces. PPG Aerospace® PR-1428 A-2 Removable Access Door Sealant is reliable and has a service temperature range of -65°F (-54°C) to 250°F (121°C), with intermittent excursions up to 275°F (135°C). That means you'll enjoy a better bond no matter what type of environment you're flying in. The sealant is a two-part, manganese dioxide-cured polysulfide compound that is designed to be applied by brush in thicknesses up to 25 mils. The door sealant cures at room temperature and is removable when applied to common aircraft substrates like aluminum and composite.
