3M™ 048011-56800 Transparent Protective Tape/Boot Application Solution - Quart Trigger-Spray Bottle

Solution is provided pre-mixed in a ready to use spray bottles. Allows wide width and contoured preformed boots to be easily installed. 3M™ Protective Tape Application Solution is especially formulated for use with 3M™ Polyurethane Protective Tape and Boots.

Cleaning the Polyurethane Protective Boot
Polyurethane Protective Boots are delivered with starch distributed over the surface to prevent sticking. Clean the surfaces of the boot with the Protective Tape Application Solution before applying the boot. Spray the solution liberally on the boot, wipe clean and dry with a clean untreated cloth or paper towel.

Applying the Polyurethane Protective Tape or Boot
Polyurethane Protective Tape and Boots can be applied with wet or dry techniques. Follow the complete instructions on the product bulletins or application instructions to select the best technique. When using the wet application technique, it is recommended that you spray the Protective Tape Application Solution on the parts and tape or boot for ease of application.

Remove the liner from the Polyurethane Protective Tape or Boot. Spray the surface of the part and adhesive side of the boot or tape liberally with the Protective Tape Application Solution. Apply the tape or boot to the surface of the part. Use a squeegee or your hand to smooth out the tape or boot to push out the trapped water and/or air bubbles. Work carefully and take care not to leave any bubbles trapped between the tape or boot and the surface. Dry the surface and edges of the tape or boot with a clean shop towel.
