Protect your removable fasteners and assemblies from corrosion-causing moisture by using PPG PRC-DeSoto JC5A Jointing Compound from SkyGeek. The one-part, non-curing compound is easy to use and comes in a pre-filled six-ounce cartridge. Use as much as you need and store the extra right in the cartridge for no mess and virtually no cleanup. The joining compound is used to provide protection from galvanic corrosion, a well-known challenge in the aerospace industry. It goes on easily and provides excellent protection, even in the most demanding of environments. Use PPG PRC-DeSoto JC5A Jointing Compound in H20-enriched areas and parts of the aircraft that are consistently exposed to atmospheric conditions, environmental moisture and other corrosion-inducing hazards.
PPG PRC-DeSoto JC5A Jointing Compound has a yellow color for easy identification. It is paste-like in consistency which makes it easy to apply using either a brush, a roller or a spatula. The compound is specially formulated to remain permanently fluid and is resistant to all types of aviation fuels including jet fuel and aviation gasoline, both of which can be corrosive. It also works over a wide temperature range, making it ideal for any environment. The paste is packaged into a six-ounce cartridge for easy dispensing and a removable cap is included to assist with storage. JC5A jointing compound is priced competitively and qualifies for volume discounts on bulk orders of six or more tubes. A manufacturer’s certification may be added for an additional charge and same-day shipping is also available.

Surface preparation Immediately before applying JC5A to metallic, chemically treated, or painted substrates, the surfaces should be cleaned with solvents to remove contamination such as dirt, grease, and/or processing lubricants. A progressive cleaning procedure should be employed using the appropriate solvents and new lint-free cloth (reclaimed solvents or tissue paper should not be used). Always pour the solvent on to the cloth to avoid contaminating the solvent supply.
Wash one small area at a time. It is important that the surface is dried with a second clean cloth prior to the solvent evaporating to prevent the re-deposition of contaminants on to the substrate.
