PPG Aerospace® P/S 890 A-2 Fuel Tank Sealant from SkyGeek ensures a leak-free flight and better safety in the sky. Leaky fuel tanks can spell big trouble on or off the ground, but PPG Aerospace® P/S 890 A-2 Fuel Tank Sealant guards against leaks, sealing the fuel tank's vulnerable areas and withstanding repeat exposure to jet fuel and aviation gas. PPG Aerospace® P/S 890 A-2 Fuel Tank Sealant is easy to use and is gray to blend in beautifully with your aircraft's exterior. The BMS 5-45N Class A-2, Grade 1 Spec formula adheres well to most aircraft substrates, including those used for fuel tanks.
PPG Aerospace® P/S 890 A-2 Fuel Tank Sealant from SkyGeek is sold in a pint-size kit with pre-measured components that should be mixed just before use. The sealant has a service temperature range from -65°F (-54°C) to 250°F (121°C), and can withstand intermittent excursions up to 275°F (135°C), making it the ideal choice for protecting your fuel tank in any conditions. Order a single kit of the sealant or buy in bulk and save with SkyGeek's volume pricing.

Surface preparationImmediately before applying sealant to primed substrates, the surfaces should be cleaned with solvents. Contaminants such as dirt, grease, and/or processing lubricants must be removed prior to sealant application.
A progressive cleaning procedure should be employed using the appropriate solvents and new lint free cloth (reclaimed solvents or tissue paper should not be used). Always pour solvent on the cloth to avoid contaminating the solvent supply. Wash one small area at a time.
It is important that the surface is dried with a second clean cloth prior to the solvent evaporating to prevent the redeposition of contaminants on the substrate.
Substrate composition can vary greatly. This can affect sealant adhesion. It is recommended that adhesion characteristics to a specific substrate be determined prior to application on production parts or assemblies.
For a more thorough discussion of proper surface preparation, please consult the SAE Aerospace Information Report AIR 4069. This document is available through SAE, 400 Commonwealth Avenue, Warrendale, PA 15096-0001.
