National Aerospace Standard NAS1523-8Y Packing with Retainer

It stands for National Aerospace Standard, which means any part with such a designation has been approved by the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) for both quality and safety. Pretty cool, huh? If the AIA approves then so do we and so will you. NAS1523-8Y's are yellow retainers made of 4130 chromoly, i.e. a low alloy steel with high tensile strength and malleability. In addition, NAS1523-8Y's are composed of nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR), a perfect material for aeronautical applications.
