PPG Aerospace® PR-1422 B-1/2 Fuel Tank Sealant from SkyGeek is designed for fillet sealing fuel tanks and other aircraft fuselage sealing applications. Once cured, the sealant maintains its elastomeric properties and can even withstand prolonged exposure to jet fuel and aviation gas without peeling, cracking or losing form. The sealant has a service temperature range from -65°F (-54°C) to 250°F (121°C), with intermittent excursions up to 275°F (135°C), so it can be used in any environment.
PPG Aerospace® PR-1422 B-1/2 Fuel Tank Sealant is brown, so it's easy to see where it has been applied. The sealant is a two-part formula with a dichromate-cured poly-sulfide base. Uncured, the sealant exhibits low sag and is thixotropic so it's easily applied by extrusion gun or spatula. It cures at room temperature and quickly forms a resilient seal, offering excellent adhesion to common aircraft substrates. The sealant is sold in a quart-size kit with pre-measured components that must be mixed before application. Once combined, the components activate the seal, allowing it to cure at room temperature.
