The sealant is designed for use on firewall structures and successfully blocks the passage of air and vapors, keeping you safer in the sky.
PPG Aerospace® PR-812 Black Firewall Sealant is a two-part compound that is sold in a convenient ready-to-mix kit. Because the components are pre-measured, there's no way to get the ratio wrong, ensuring a stronger hold and more reliable results. The blended sealant is black, so it's easy to see where it has been applied. Once mixed, PPG Aerospace® PR-812 Black Firewall Sealant has a paste-like consistency and is low sag, so it's suitable to be applied by extrusion gun or spatula and works well on vertical surfaces. The material cures at room temperature and forms a resilient seal when applied to most types of common aircraft substrates.
