Huntsman is on the prowl and they've found and developed the best in syntactics used in the aerospace industry. SkyGeek fact: syntactic essentially means "put together" and does not in this context refer to syntax. Huntsman Epocast® is a low-density, two-component syntactic that has a wood-like consistency when cured. The epoxy is sold in two separate components that should be mixed just prior to use. By keeping the components separate, the epoxy is kept inactive. That makes it last longer and ensures that it doesn't harden until you want it to. One of the components in the two-part kit is actually an activator that allows the mixture to cure at room temperature. According to Huntsman, this item is "a general-purpose reddish-brown epoxy semi-paste with good dimensional stability under changing humidity conditions. It cures at room temperature to a wood-like material. It's used for core filling and honeycomb reinforcement and is qualified to Sikorsky SS 9587, Type 1/ Mitsubishi M1129 Class A."
Huntsman Epocast® A+B Epoxy from SkyGeek is sold in one-gallon kit. It is easy to use and provides a strong hold for your most important projects, making it a great choice for general repairs, new installations and more. Once mixed, the epoxy should be used right away to avoid the product from curing before it is set in place. If you don't need it all, unused portions can be kept separately and sealed. The consistency of the mixed epoxy makes it great for use on hard-to-reach areas or for filling cracks and smoothing surfaces.
