The sealant works to stop leaks and seal gaps while the corrosion-inhibiting compounds form a moisture-resistant barrier that offers reliable protection against the common causes of corrosion. The two-part manganese dioxide-cured polysulfide compound has a service temperature range from -65ºF (-54ºC) to 250ºF (121ºC). It can withstand intermittent excursions up to 275ºF (135ºC), so you can use it all over the aircraft. Once cured, the sealant maintains its elastomeric properties and is even resistant to limited exposure to aviation gas and jet fuel.
