PPG PR1776M Class B is a low density, high temperature, aircraft-integral, two-part fuel tank sealant designed for fillet sealing of fuel tanks and other aircraft fuselage sealing applications.
Features
This product is a manganese dioxide cured Permapol P-5 polysulfide compound. The uncured material is a low sag, thixotropic paste suitable for application by extrusion gun or spatula. The cured sealant maintains excellent elastomeric properties after exposure to both jet fuel and aviation gas.
It has a service temperature range of -54°C (-65°F) to 121°C (250°F) with intermittent excursions up to 182°C (360°F). It cures at room temperature to form a resilient sealant having excellent adhesion to common aircraft substrates.
This product offers up to 20% weight savings per unit volume over traditional sealants used for its purposes. It will also resist limited contact to diphosphate ester based hydraulic fluids.
