Product Attributes
Specialty jobs require specialty products. Naftoseal® MC-780 Fuselage and Fuel Tank Sealant is a Class B, two-component, manganese-dioxide-cured polysulfide polymer sealant that's specifically formulated for use in fuselages and fuel tanks. The sealant offers outstanding resistance to aviation gasoline and jet fuel, as well as superior chemical resistance. Naftoseal® MC-780 Fuselage and Fuel Tank Sealant holds its own against petroleum products, which are used extensively in the aviation industry. The sealant has a wide service temperature range, from -55 °C (-67 °F) to 130 °C (266 °F) and can even withstand brief excursions up to 182ºC (360ºF).
Once applied and cured, Naftoseal® MC-780 Fuselage and Fuel Tank Sealant maintains its excellent flexibility and bond strength. Use the sealant on aluminum, stainless steel, steel, titanium, composite and other materials that might be used to make fuel tanks or fuselages. The Class B sealant is sold as a two-part kit and should be mixed just before use. Use an MCI-Mixer or another appropriate two-component mixing system to ensure a homogenous blend before application. Once mixed, the compound is a thixotropic paste and should be applied by extrusion, injection gun or spatula.
