Your aircraft has safety systems in place to protect it against lightning strikes, but those systems can always use a helping hand. PPG Aerospace® P/S 872 B-2 Conductive Sealant from SkyGeek does just that, maintaining electrical continuity in a highly torqued fay surface. Designed for use in certain aircraft applications, the sealant also acts as an effective barrier against the common causes of corrosion for an added layer of protection. PPG Aerospace® P/S 872 B-2 Conductive Sealant is formulated for use on aluminum alloys or between dissimilar metals. The electrically conductive sealant is resistant to intermittent exposure to jet fuel and aviation gas.
PPG Aerospace® P/S 872 B-2 Electrically Conductive Adhesive from SkyGeek is a two-part aluminum-filled manganese dioxide-cured polysulfide compound with a paste-like consistency for easy application. The uncured material is low sage and thixotropic, so it is easily applied to vertical or horizontal surfaces. The thick conductive adhesive material goes on well using an extrusion gun or spatula and will cure at room temperature, adhering well to most common types of aircraft substrates. The electrically conductive adhesives are sold in 6 oz. SemKits.
