A smooth exterior finish for your aircraft is about more than just aesthetics. A smooth finish means a smoother flight, less risk of damage and improved safety overall. PPG® Desoprime™ CA7233A/B Epoxy Primer is a high-solids formula designed to guard against corrosion, chemicals and solvents. The durable epoxy primer is meant to be used on the exterior of the aircraft and helps prepare the surface for an epoxy topcoat. When applied as directed, PPG® Desoprime™ CA7233A/B Epoxy Primer exhibits excellent adhesion to a variety of substrates, including aluminum and composites. The primer offers a high degree of Skydrol resistance and is compatible with all Desothane® high solids topcoats.

PPG® Desoprime™ CA7233A/B Epoxy Primer can handle the toughest flight conditions and even passes the rain erosion test for long-lasting protection you can count on. The primer has a service temperature range of -54°C to 177°C (-65°F to 350°F) and is safe to apply in any environment. The epoxy primer is sold in a quart-size kit and will cure at room temperature to a durable finish. The primer is yellow, so it’s easy to see where it has been applied, allowing for visual inspections and a more complete application.
