Aerospace Sealants AS159 RTV Sealant is an FAA-approved replacement for Momentive RTV159 High Strength Fast Cure RTV Silicone Adhesive Sealant. It has been tested and conforms to standards of MIL-A-46106 Type I Group III material.
AS159 is a high strength acetoxy silicone RTV adhesive rubber that cures quickly at room temperature. It is suitable for applications requiring fast development of physical properties and excellent adhesion. When cured it resists weathering, ozone, moisture, and UV. It can be used in manual and automatic dispensing equipment. Dispensing in open air and ambient humidity results in a high strength adhesive rubber. Cure speed can increase with hot air to nearly instant cures exhibiting very fast adhesion. A one-minute hot air stream exposure followed by a one-minute cool-down in a humid environment will result in a cured elastomer condition that exhibits outstanding adhesion.
